Rupert Perkins, Contracts Director of John Perkins Construction, will continue his work as an important voice for SMEs in the construction industry, in his new role as an Ambassador for the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).
CCS is an independent, non-profit-making organisation, founded by the construction industry to improve its image. Rupert was appointed to the CCS Board as Non-Executive Director in 2013, and spent three years on the Board, providing a valuable SME perspective.
During this time, Rupert contributed to the strategic direction of CCS and championed a number of new initiatives. Most notably, he helped to make contact between CCS and the National Federation of Builders (NFB) - one of the UK's longest standing trade bodies, representing SME builders and contractors across England and Wales.
In November 2016, CCS and NFB formed an influential partnership to promote best practice and raise standards across construction industry SMEs.
Rupert Perkins comments: "I am very proud of what I've been able to achieve as a Non-Executive Director of CCS. It's been a great three years and I'm thrilled that my association with CCS will continue. In my new role as an Ambassador, I'm eager to carry on contributing to efforts to raise standards in the industry and bring the essential work of SMEs to the fore."
