John Perkins Construction has today (27 March) reached the difficult decision to pause works on all our sites for a 48-hour period (30–31 March).
We have tried to continue site works in accordance with government guidance, but because of mounting pressure (including supplier and supply chain closures), we have taken the tough decision to temporarily cease works.
However, we will keep this decision under continual review, the first of which being on the afternoon of 31 March, and look to restart as soon as it is feasible.
To this end, we have written a new COVID-19 Operating Procedure, approved by our independent safety advisors. This will be distributed to our staff and supply chain partners, so that when the decision to reopen comes, we are ready to operate to those procedures from the outset.
We are very proud of the efforts of our team during this challenging time. Many of our team members remain hard at work, bidding for new and exciting opportunities for when we come out the other side. Others are using the pause in site works to think ahead and plan for the future, so that everything is in place for when we get the greenlight to recommence.
