At John Perkins Construction, we recognise the importance of understanding and reducing the environmental impact of our operations.
We have worked with Carbon Consult to establish our baseline greenhouse gas emissions and develop a Carbon Reduction Plan that provides a clear framework for measuring, monitoring and reducing our carbon emissions over time.
Our baseline reporting covers our office operations and construction projects across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions. For the reporting year to 31 January 2025, our total baseline emissions were 119.26 tCO₂e.
The plan identifies a number of areas where we can continue to reduce our impact, including improving energy efficiency and monitoring on our construction sites, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, considering lower-carbon transport options, improving waste management and strengthening the way we collect and report environmental data.
We have already taken steps to reduce our emissions. Improvements at our Bristol office, including the installation of roof-mounted solar PV, have resulted in an estimated 37% reduction in emissions associated with office electricity use.
Our Carbon Reduction Plan will be reviewed annually, allowing us to monitor progress, improve the quality of our reporting and continue identifying opportunities to reduce emissions across our business and projects.
