YGGIC Energy Centre
We’re proud to announce that John Perkins Construction has been appointed to deliver a major low-carbon heating upgrade at YGGIC, supporting Newport City Council’s net-zero targets.
As part of the Council’s decarbonisation programme, this project will see the replacement of fossil fuel-based heating systems with air source heat pump (ASHP) technology, forming a key step in reducing the school’s carbon footprint and creating a more sustainable future for Newport’s young learners.
Our team will be delivering the full mechanical and electrical installation, including:
• Installation of 2 Air Source Heat Pumps
• Construction of a dedicated external ASHP compound and new Energy Centre to house the distribution pump, buffer vessel and ancillary equipment
• Decommissioning of existing gas calorifiers and installation of heat pump water heaters for domestic hot water in both plant rooms.
We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with YGGIC and Newport City Council, supporting the transformation of Newport’s schools into future-ready, energy-efficient environments, and we look forward to delivering this scheme to the highest standard.
