Christopher Hancock manages the commercial aspects of construction jobs at John Perkins Construction, including procurement, managing accounts, and agreeing costs with subcontractors.
He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Architecture from Arts University Bournemouth and gained a broad grounding in the construction industry by working as a tiler while studying. He trained on the job as a quantity surveyor, with stints at Westgreen Construction and Uplands Retail.
Chris joined John Perkins Construction in 2019. He enjoys the opportunities that arise from quantity surveying, where you shoulder a lot of responsibility for the success of the project. His role also allows him the flexibility to get involved with contracts management and he relishes being on site, in the thick of the action.
Regular communication of the cost plan and variations from Chris helped keep us focussed, feeling well informed and in control of costs, along with the useful feedback and discussions at the weekly site meetings.
